Chesapeake early morning fire displaces 3 from home

Firefighters received a call about a shed catching fire around 1:30 a.m. on Monday. Chesapeake, Suffolk and Portsmouth crews helped to extinguish the flames.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Three people are displaced from their home after an early morning fire in Chesapeake.

Firefighters received a call about a shed catching fire around 1:30 a.m. on Monday. 

Chesapeake firefighters say they arrived at the scene on 3300 Woodbaugh Drive around six minutes later and saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the home and two sheds in the backyard.

Chesapeake, Suffolk and Portsmouth crews deployed multiple hose lines and extinguished the fire; it was officially marked as out at 2:53 a.m.

The two sheds received heavy damage and two neighboring homes had minor exterior damage. 

Three adults were home at the time of the fire and they evacuated before crews arrived. Due to the fire's damage, they are displaced from the home. The Red Cross was not needed to find them shelter.

There are no injuries reported from the incident.
