CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A lot of people take up self-defense classes to feel safer while walking the city streets and the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office wants people to know anyone can benefit from learning a move or two.
On Thursday morning, deputies held a "Self-Defense for Seniors Workshop" for the Niners Senior Group. Defensive tactics instructors taught the seniors some self-defense moves and tips to stay safe, with some Niners practicing moves using DT (defensive tactics) equipment.
The Chesapeake Sheriff's Office offers this self-defense program for free to senior groups and retirement communities. If you're interested in booking a workshop for your community group or retirement home, call (757) 382-6159.
