4 adults, 1 child displaced after Chesapeake house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Five people have been displaced following an early Friday morning fire in Chesapeake, according to the Chesapeake Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 600 block of Harbour North Drive at 4:48 a.m. after receiving a call from the occupant of the home about a second-floor fire. 

When crews arrived on the scene, they reported smoke and flames visible from the exterior front window. The fire was extinguished at 5:05 a.m.

According to fire officials, all occupants evacuated before units arrived on scene and no injuries were reported.

However, four adults and one child have been displaced due to the fire, and the Red Cross is assisting with lodging arrangements.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
