CHESAPEAKE, Va. — An uplifting event returned to Chesapeake Friday night to honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The annual Bra-ha-ha Awards Show and Auction was held at the Delta Hotels by Marriott. It was the 16th annual show.
The highlight of the fundraising campaign is the bra designing contest where unique works of art are created. Of the 151 bras being judged, organizers said a dozen were recognized.
The money raised helps provide free mammograms and breast health services to those without insurance. Since the event was first established, it has raised more than $2 million,
There was also an awards show and live auction which 13News Now anchor Nicole Livas was honored to help emcee.
The wrap-up event, which celebrates breast cancer survivors, is at Lynnhaven Mall on Saturday, October 28th.
The bra's will be on display at an exhibit at the Lynnhaven Mall from Monday, October 16 to Tuesday, October 31.
