JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. — The James City County Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred just before 3 p.m., according to a police department spokeswoman.
The shooting happened near the intersection of Monticello Avenue and Greensprings Plantation Drive, resulting in injuries. The investigation is in its initial stages.
To facilitate the investigation, Monticello Avenue is closed between Centerville Road and Powhatan Secondary, and motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Additionally, delays are expected for drivers using the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry.
