JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. —
The James City County Police Department is investigating a Saturday night stabbing at Busch Gardens.
Officers said they responded to a report made by an employee of the park about a fight in the France area of Busch Gardens around 9:50 p.m.
When they arrived at the scene the people involved in the fight had already dispersed and fled. The surrounding area was then secured and searched, leading to the recovery of several pieces of evidence, according to police.
Moments later, officers said they were approached at the park's entrance by an 18-year-old man, who had been involved in the fight, and told them he had been stabbed.
James City County Medics provided him with medical assistance before he was transported to Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries related to the stabbing or overall fight have been reported.
The police’s Criminal Investigations Unit has taken over the active investigation.
