ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. — A crash involving two tractor trailers in Isle of Wight County shut down a section of US-460 Thursday night, just a mile west of Windsor, the Isle of Wight County Sheriff's Office confirmed.
Virginia State Police said the driver of one tractor trailer, Leslie Turner, was driving an empty trailer when the vehicle disabled. Turner was in his cab looking for emergency triangles when a second tractor trailer hauling water bottles, driven by George Brown, struck it from behind.
According to VSP, Brown was brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, part of 460 was shut down from around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night until around 4:30 a.m. Friday. For a while, lanes in both directions were closed, but before completely reopening, there were alternating lane closures, too.
