ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. — Two children are among the four forced out of their home when a fire tore through part of a residence in the Rushmere area overnight, according to Isle of Wight Fire Rescue.
The house fire broke out just after 1 a.m.
By the time crews arrived, officials said "over half of the building engulfed in flames." This prompted a response from surrounding fire agencies, including Smithfield and Surry.
The fire was brought under control within an hour of it being reported.
Officials said no one was injured.
