GLOUCESTER, Va. — A shelter-in-place ordered Monday morning has been lifted, and deputies in Gloucester County have ended the search for the man who sparked the incident.
Robert Paul Rosell, Jr. was located and arrested, the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) said.
Residents in the area of Lowneyville Lane and Pinetta Road had been impacted. The GCSO said that residents should remain on alert for the suspect, Robert Paul Rosell Jr., and not to approach him if he is seen.
According to the sheriff's office, Rosell had last been seen wearing either a white or green shirt and blue jeans, but he could be changing clothes. Deputies said he is wanted on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and brandishing of a firearm.
Deputies said a weapon was recovered on-scene, but Rosell should still be considered dangerous and still possibly armed.
Gloucester County Public Schools said three schools -- Peasley Middle, Bethel Elementary, and Petsworth Elementary -- were placed into "SECURE" mode. Gloucester school officials said that when placed in SECURE mode, the exterior of the buildings are secured with no one allowed in or out of the schools. Students and staff are allowed to continue indoor activities, including class changes and school lunch in the cafeteria.
At about 2 p.m., Gloucester County Public Schools updated to say all three schools were allowed to end their secure status and could have a normal, on-time class dismissal. Afternoon activities proceeded as scheduled.
