GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. — A man was thrown from his vehicle during a collision on Route 17 in Gloucester County late Monday morning, resulting in his death.
Virginia State Police released an update on Thursday concerning what their investigation revealed about the circumstances of the crash.
Police say the crash happened on Monday at 11:30 a.m. on Route 17 when a 2013 Hyundai Elantra was heading northbound on Route 17, near Glenns Road and struck a 2008 Ford F-450 entering the roadway from a private driveway.
The Elantra overturned; the driver 61-year-old Percy Lockley Jr. from Topping, Virginia, wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle. He died at the scene.
The driver of the F-450, 58-year-old Kevin Gramig from Florida, and the two other people in the vehicle weren't injured.
Police say charges are pending against Gramig and the crash is still under investigation.
