NEW YORK (WVEC) -- Another national award for Gavin Grimm.
The Gloucester County high school graduate received the Courage Award at the Village Voice Pride Awards Wednesday night in New York City.
Grimm was born a girl, but identifies as a man. He sued the school board for the right to use the boys bathroom.
The ACLU of Virginia tweeted a picture of Grimm with gay marriage pioneer Edie Windsor at Wednesday's awards banquet.
A federal appeals court will consider Grimm's case this September.
