WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) --- It was media day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg Friday, and 13News Now anchor Philip Townsend was one of the first people to ride the park’s newest attraction.
It’s called Battle For Eire, and it’s a marriage of motion-based theater simulator with state-of-the-art 360-degree virtual reality headsets.
Park guests are taken into a magical world featuring the ride’s main character, a fairy warrior named Addie.
The 360-degree headset makes for an immersive experience that makes you feel like you’re actually riding on a dragon and zipping through the clouds.
Every headset is connected to its own computer, and each guest will be able to choose their own journey while inside the fantasy world.
The attraction hasn’t officially opened yet, but park officials expect that to happen sometime this spring.
