NORFOLK, Va. — A fire broke out at a home in Norfolk's Coronado neighborhood Tuesday morning, according to Norfolk Fire-Rescue.

Fire crews responded to the fire at the 6700 block of Palem Rd shortly before 11:40 a.m. The home is near Olive Grove Baptist Church and down the street from Norview High School.

Norfolk Fire-Rescue said when firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the first floor of the home, and they were able to contain it to one room.

"Crews attacked the fire from inside, made a quick containment and extinguishment, and conducted a thorough search with no residents on-site," Norfolk Fire-Rescue added.

Fire officials said they had the fire under control by noon, and there were no injuries. Norfolk Fire-Rescue said the Red Cross is helping one resident and a cat who are displaced.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
