FEMA distributed over $3 million in recovery funds in Hampton Roads so far

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WVEC) Over $3 million in recovery funds have been distributed for Hurricane Matthew relief in the area.

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WVEC) Over $3 million in recovery funds have been distributed for Hurricane Matthew relief in the area.

Thousands of homeowners had their property damaged during Hurricane Matthew.

FEMA reports that so far, just over $3.3 million dollars has been distributed for assisting disaster-related housing needs.

Additionally, just under $292,000 has been handed out to help with other disaster-related needs such as furnishings, transportation and medical expenses.

Money is also available to help cover the cost of repair or replacement of your damaged furnaces and water heaters.

Residents with flood damage to their furnaces and water heaters must register with FEMA by the Jan. 3, 2017 deadline to be eligible for grants.
