NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Calling all nurses in Hampton Roads! Dunkin' Donuts will be delivering more than 1,000 donuts to CHKD locations in Norfolk and Newport News to celebrate National Nurses Week!
We're told 144 dozen, fresh doughnuts -- that total to 1,728 in all -- will be delivered to nurses at CHKD's main hospital in downtown Norfolk and the CHKD Health and Surgery Center at Oyster Point on May 9.
“The nurses at CHKD do so much to care for our region’s little munchkins every day, we thought free donuts would be the perfect way to show our appreciation for their hard work,” said Katie Metts, Field Marketing Manager for Dunkin’ Donuts.
Dunkin' Donuts has raised more than $120,000 for CHKD through its "Coffee that Cares" program and Joy in Childhood Foundation over the past six years.
The donut shop also donated 90 dozen donuts to CHKD doctors on National Doctors Day in March.
