SUSSEX CO., Va. (WVEC) -- Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that took place Tuesday morning that killed the driver.
We're told that shortly after 6 a.m., 45-year-old James Ray Yarbrough was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado in the northbound lanes of Route 35, when he ran off the road and struck a tree head-on.
Yarbrough died instantly in the crash, according to investigators. He was wearing a seatbelt.
Police say neither alcohol nor speed were a contributing factor in the crash.
