VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A car fire broke out on the westbound lanes of I-264 near Witchduck Rd. Tuesday morning, causing major delays for motorists.
Dispatchers received calls about the fire shortly before 10 a.m.
Heavy smoke was billowing from the vehicle as crews worked to put out the flames.
Authorities closed three lanes to clear the scene.
There's no word yet on what caused the fire, but no one was injured.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
