ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. — A Maryland man was arrested after a vehicle chase in Accomack County early Monday morning, authorities said.
Malachi Tull, 21, was charged with felony eluding, driving without a license, and maliciously shooting at or throwing missiles at an occupied vehicle.
According to the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office, the chase began on Lankford Highway in the Tasley area shortly after 1 a.m. when a deputy tried to pull Tull over for not staying in the lane.
After the deputy turned on his lights, Tull didn't stop and traveled through the Town of Accomac at more than 75 miles an hour, the sheriff's office said.
After returning to Lankford Highway, Tull went over 100 miles an hour before crashing his car in Bloxom. Two people got out of the car and ran off. Tull, who was driving, was apprehended, while the other person evaded authorities, according to the sheriff's office.
Tull is being held at the Accomack County Jail with bail denied.
