VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- The man found not guilty of murder after being accused of killing a high school student outside of an Applebee's restaurant last year was sentenced to 48 years in prison Thursday.

Andarion McInnis, 19, was convicted of robbery, conspiracy and two counts of use of a firearm following an incident where 18-year-old Bryant Cueto was shot and killed outside the Virginia Beach restaurant back in May of 2016.

A jury recommended that he serve 30 years for robbery, 10 years for conspiracy, three years for one gun charge and a mandatory of five years for the second gun charge.

But a jury acquitted him of the murder charge.

Investigators say McInnis and another suspect killed Cueto after a drug deal went wrong.
