Results negative for people tested for coronavirus in Chesapeake

A spokeswoman for Southeastern Virginia Training Center said two people who live there were tested for COVID-19. Their results were negative for the virus.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — The results for two people who live at a home for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities came back negative for COVID-19.

Meghan McGuire, a spokeswoman for Southeastern Virginia Training Center, provided the update Wednesday evening.

No other person at the center had shown symptoms, but as a precaution, the staff members were asked to wear masks.

McGuire said the center would go back to its "previous vigilance such as following Virginia Department of Health and CDC guidance, routine screening, assessing travel, and monitoring symptoms that fit COVID-19 criteria."

Southeastern Virginia Training Center is divided into 15 different homes, with five people living in each building.
