VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) — Virginia Beach police officers arrested four people Thursday in connection to the murder of an Ocean Lakes High School student.
Jacob Alexander Meadows, 19, and three minors are facing charges for the deadly shooting that happened in the 2700 block of Elson Green near Sandbridge Road in Red Mill on Tuesday. Emergency dispatchers received the call shortly before 4 p.m.
When officers got to the neighborhood, they found a 17-year-old's body. HIs family told 13News Now that he was Chris Ross, a student at Ocean Lakes High School.
Police charged Meadows with 2nd Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm, two counts of Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Act, three counts of Distribution of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana within a School Zone. He was in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center Thursday.
According to Lauren Nolasco Director of Communications with Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Meadows was a 2017 Graduate of Kellam High School.
Two of the other people arrested were charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Act and Use of a Firearm.
Officers said they charged the third minor with Distribution of Marijuana and Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Act.
