GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WVEC) -- Crews are battling a 100-acre marsh fire in the Guinea Circle of Gloucester County on Friday.
The fire started in three separate locations Maundy Creek Road, Jenkins Neck, and Guinea Circle around 7 p.m.
Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue officials said as of 9:21 p.m. the fire was contained, and the wind is blowing the flames towards the water.
Gloucester County and York County Fire Departments are assisting. Officials said a majority of the region is marsh and only a few structures were impacted.
Roads are being closed as necessary as crews move with the fire. No injuries have been reported at this time.
