WOODBRIDGE It's been a month since the murder of Old Dominion University college student Christopher Cummings.
Police continue to investigate leads, but so far, no one has been arrested and charged.
His family, desperate for answers, has turned to a psychic for help.
'We are going to do whatever it takes, whatever it takes,' says his mother Rosa Cummings.
'As a parent who lost his child, I'm going to grab any strand of hope I can and this is just one of them,' adds his father, James Cummings.
Cummings, 20, was shot to death and his roommate wounded in their home on 42nd Street near the Norfolk campus.
His uncle, Rep. Elijah Cummings of Baltimore, MD, visited the campus soon after and described his nephew's death as a random shooting and pleaded with the public to come forward with tips. But tips haven't led to the killer.
At home in Woodbridge, the Cummings are surrounded by reminders of their only son gone too soon his black car in the driveway, posters in his room, his collection of watches and memories.
It was his sister who went to a psychic while she was in Boston. That psychic says she harnessed Christopher's spirit and gave the family five pages filled with everything he said.
Mr. Cummings was skeptical, but he wondered how the psychic could know about his wounds.
'There were two places on his body and they were extremely accurate,' he related.
The psychic says Chris had a friend who needed money and Chris didn't want to pay for his debts. Criminals went into the house with a 'you owe us' attitude,' according to the psychic.
The report describes the getaway vehicle, the killer and what he was wearing - details we're not releasing at the request of Norfolk Police.
For Mrs. Cummings, it's hard for her to believe Chris was killed by someone he knew.
Back in Norfolk, continue their investigation and say they're reading through the psychic's report, hoping for a tip that could break the case.
