NORFOLK, Va. — Missy Elliot gave the keynote speech at Norfolk State University's graduation ceremony Saturday.
"I am proud of y'all, and y'all should be proud of your self," Elliot said to the crowd of graduating students before having them look at each other and speak encouraging words.
She commended the crowd for working hard and focusing their efforts over the past few years.
Elliott also received an honorary doctorate at the graduation and donated $20,000 to the university.
