YORK COUNTY, Va. — A man was arrested on Tuesday and charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old, says officials.
A spokesperson for the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office says that 62-year-old Daniel Martin Russel has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery and taking indecent liberties with a child.
Deputies say they received a complaint on Monday claiming that a 13-year-old had been sexually assaulted by a man. The sexual assault allegedly happened at Russell's home in York County.
The Sheriff's Office determined that the Russel is a registered sex offender. He is currently being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
The Sheriff's Office did not release any other information surrounding the incident.
