VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A Virginia Beach man pleaded guilty to receiving "massive amounts" of images and videos of child sexual exploitation, the Department of Justice said on Thursday.
51-year-old Kevin Javon Taylor was arrested on the charges back in 2021. According to prosecutors, the FBI began investigating hundreds of requests for suspected child pornography images made between October 2020 and May 2021 linked to a Virginia Beach IP address.
Investigators tied the IP address to Taylor, and a search warrant was executed on his home on June 6, 2021. Prosecutors said Taylor's electronic devices appeared to have child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and FBI agents also found three physical binders containing child porn.
The Department of Justice said 14,100 images and 642 videos of CSAM were found on Taylor's electronic devices, along with an additional 90,000 images of child erotica. The files were stored across 33 different electronic devices as well as physical copies.
Taylor is scheduled to be sentenced on December 5. Prosecutors said he faces a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum penalty of 20 years.
