VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A Virginia Beach man faces charges for allegedly beating a 17-year-old boy outside of the teen's house on Feb. 5.
According to a spokesperson with Virginia Beach police, an argument started between both parties while they were driving; however, it became physical once they got to their destination.
The teenager alleges that the 41-year-old driver, Padra Spencer, followed him to his house on Thalia Trace Drive and ordered him out of his car while holding a gun. The teen allegedly responded with, "Oh, so you are going to shoot a 17-year-old?"
This resulted in a physical altercation between the two that ultimately ended in minor injuries.
By the time officers arrived, the 17-year-old said Spencer had choked, punched and thrown him to the ground.
Spencer said the teenager punched him while he walked back to his car.
In the end, the officer charged Spencer with a Class 6 felony of strangulation and two Class 1 misdemeanors of assault and brandishing a weapon.
Spencer could face up to seven years in prison if he is convicted and pay thousands of dollars worth of fines.
Spencer is due to appear in court for these resulting charges on July 13 of this year.
