VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A Virginia Beach man is in jail facing 10 felony charges of child pornography, and neighbors said the man used to be a children's baseball coach.
Police arrested 50-year-old Shannon Robbins after they received a search warrant to go through his home on Creekwood Court. According to court documents, detectives found several files of child porn inside the house.
Neighbors said they woke up baffled to find a SWAT team searching the quiet Virginia Beach neighborhood.
"My wife saw somebody getting frisked, I think she lived in the cul-de-sac over there," said one neighbor. "There were police officers all over the street."
Neighbors said detectives remained in the neighborhood gathering evidence for hours.
According to court documents, witness statements about the alleged pornography led police detectives to file for the search warrant.
The age and gender of the victims are not known at this time, and Virginia Beach police could not confirm or deny Robbins' past position and said the investigation is ongoing.
13News Now reached out to Robbins' attorney but did not hear back.
Robbins is in Virginia Beach City Jail without bond. He is expected to appear before a judge on October 31.
