PORTSMOUTH, Va. — It was a violent, deadly weekend in the City of Portsmouth.
Since Sunday afternoon, three people have been shot, with one person dying from their injuries. Police are still working to find out if any of these shootings are connected.
The first shooting happened on Cherokee Road just after 5:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
As police were investigating this shooting, another person walked into Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Then around 8 p.m., someone shot another man in the 2700 block of High Street. We're told he's in the hospital with serious injuries.
