YORK COUNTY, Va. — In the early hours of Friday morning, deputies with the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office responded to a call at the Tabb Exxon in the 3100 block of Big Bethel Road.

Three teenagers were reported trying to break into the building. When deputies arrived, they fled on foot into the surrounding neighborhood.

After a two-hour search through woods and the surrounding neighborhoods, all three teenagers were arrested. All three of the young men were York County residents, the Sheriff's Office confirmed.

Following initial investigations, the Sheriff's Office concluded the three arrested individuals had also committed recent burglaries at BK's Tobacco and Vape on Sept. 28 and another attempted burglary at the same Exxon the next day.

Authorities determined two additional teens were involved in those cases and charges are pending against them.

The charges against the five teens all together (aged 15 to 17) are burglary, attempted burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of burglary tools. All of those charges are felonies.

The three arrested teens were detained in the Merrimac Juvenile Detention Center.
