VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Police are searching for the person responsible for shooting and injuring someone while traveling on Interstate 264 Westbound in Virginia Beach Saturday afternoon.
The Virginia State Police responded to the interstate, west of Independence Boulevard, for a reported shooting just before 1 p.m.
The initial investigation revealed the victim was sitting in the backseat of a vehicle heading west when an unknown car shot at them.
Police said the victim was taken to a hospital but is expected tp survive.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored sedan. VSP asks anyone that may have witnessed the shooting or has information on the case to contact them either by phone at 804-750-8788 or email questions@vsp.virginia.gov.
