SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) — The Suffolk Police Department is looking for a suspect who shot into an occupied vehicle.
The incident occurred early on December 8 in the 3900 block of Bridge Road. The victim and his wife told responding officer that they were at their home on Bennetts Meadow Lane and saw a person inside their other vehicle at that location.
The couple opened the garage door, and the suspect reportedly jumped out of the vehicle and fired at their car before leaving the scene. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
After investigating, police have identified the suspect as 20-year-old Yasir Malik Smith from Norfolk, Virginia. He has outstanding warrants for Shooting Missiles at Occupied Vehicle, two counts of Using a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and two counts of Attempting Non-Capital Offense.
