NORFOLK, Va. — A man who was stabbed in Norfolk Wednesday night has died, police said.
According to Norfolk police, officers responded to the 2900 block of Verdun Avenue just after 8:15 p.m. 33-year-old Joseph A. Warner II was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Investigators said he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police said that based on preliminary information, Warner was stabbed by a resident after entering the home. Police said they are not looking for any suspects, and the case will be reviewed by the Commonwealth Attorney's Office to determine if there will be any charges.
Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney Ramin Fatehi told 13News Now that evidence points to "use of force in legally justifiable self-defense." He said that therefore, it "does not show a crime."
