ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — A person was shot in Elizabeth City Monday night, police said.
At around 8:50 p.m., Elizabeth City police officers responded to Woodstock II Apartments in the 1400 block of Avenue for a call reporting hearing three gunshots in the area.
When officers were on scene, it was reported that a 23-year-old man had been shot and was being taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Officers arrived at the hospital and found that the man had a gunshot wound to his right arm.
