Suffolk stabbing suspect now in custody

According to Suffolk Police, 44-year-old Michael Steven Catron of Suffolk allegedly stabbed a woman in the neck.

SUFFOLK, Va. — A man accused of stabbing a woman in Suffolk is now behind bars.

Police say 44-year-old Michael Steven Catron turned himself in on Tuesday after spending a week on the run. 

Shortly before 10 p.m. on August 13, officers with the Suffolk Police Department responded to a medic assist call at the 130 block of Lee Street. When they arrived, a woman was found with stab wounds to her neck. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Catron is charged with felony aggravated malicious wounding, abduction and kidnapping, concealing/destroying evidence of a felony, and misdemeanor assault and battery.
