CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- A 21-year-old man is charged with trying to rob a bank in Chesapeake.
Vontrell Rodgers was arrested shortly after he pulled a knife at the SunTrust in the 100 block of Volvo Parkway, police say.
Witnesses told police he had an orange bandanna around his face when he demanded money from a teller around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27.
But when the employee hesitated, he left the bank and rode away on a bicycle, investigators noted.
When police arrived, they spotted him at a nearby Shell gas station, said Officer Kelly O'Sullivan.
