Norfolk police: Teenager walked into CHKD with gunshot wound, expected to recover

Police said a 16-year-old who had been shot walked into Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk dispatchers said a 16-year-old walked into Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday with a gunshot wound.

Tuesday afternoon, police said the teenager was expected to recover.

Officers were called to the hospital to investigate the situation.

Although dispatchers said the wound could have been related to a situation on East Princess Anne Road, police did not say if that was the case. They had not released any information about possible suspects or a motive Tuesday afternoon.
