VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A person was shot near Virginia Wesleyan University Thursday evening, police said.
According to Virginia Beach police, officers responded to the 5700 block of University Place just before 5:15 p.m.
One person is hurt, but police say they are conscious and breathing. The person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
VBPD hasn't released any suspect information.
