NAGS HEAD, N.C. — A Nags Head man is facing nearly 100 felony and more than two dozen misdemeanor charges stemming from a string of thefts in the Outer Banks area, according to a joint statement from the Nags Head Police Department and Kill Devil Hills Police Department.
In a release on Wednesday, authorities announced that 35-year-old Donald Gray had been arrested after an "extensive joint investigation."
Gray faces 50 felony and 15 misdemeanor charges in Nags Head and another 48 felonies and 16 misdemeanors in Kill Devil Hills. Felony breaking and entering vehicles and businesses, felony larceny of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a felon are among the charges.
Both police chiefs credited the successful investigation to the collaborative efforts between the two departments.
“The coordinated efforts between the Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills Police Departments underscore the importance of interagency collaboration in ensuring the safety and security of our communities. The arrest is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the officers involved in the operation,” Kill Devil Hills Police Chief Gary Britt said in the release.
Nags Head Police Chief Perry Hale shared a similar statement, saying, in part, "We are proud of the seamless cooperation between our two police departments in bringing this individual to justice."
