VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — One person is in the hospital following a late Sunday morning shooting in Virginia Beach, authorities confirmed.
The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the vicinity of Atlantic Avenue and 22nd Street shortly after 11 a.m.
At the scene, officers found someone that had been shot. VBPD said the victim was rushed to a hospital, but said there's no word on their condition.
Police have not identified or released the age of the victim.
No information related to a suspect or what led up to the shooting has been released at this time. Police said an investigation is underway.
