Newport News father marches for justice for slain son

Jeremy Holiday's son Adrian and Jeremy Taylor were shot in the parking lot of the Reserve at Deer Run Apartments.
Jeremy Holiday holds a sign on May 4, asking for people to help police solve his son's murder.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) - A father looking for answers fought back tears as he talked about the death of his son, shot to death last month.

"No snitching doesn't exist in Denbigh anymore," said Jeremy Holiday.

His 26-year old son Adrian and 23-year-old Jeremy Taylor were shot in the parking lot of the Reserve at Deer Run Apartments.

Mr. Holiday and some of his son's friends made signs and then marched around the area, hoping their signs would trigger someone to call in tip that leads to the killer. He thinks that person may be in the Denbigh area.

"Sure I do, I do and I believe he's close," stated Jeremy Holiday.

Holiday and Jaymes Brooks say they won't let fear stop them.

"We're not afraid, we're not going anywhere, we're not going to be victims twice. Actually my son was taken from me, we were victims once. To be trapped in my house scared to talk scared to be out here in the city will make us a victim twice, that's not going to happen, we're not going anywhere," said Holiday.

Brooks added, "No I ain't afraid, why? A bunch of cowards walking around with guns, that's all they are."

Newport News Police said they're making progress in the case but didn't want to say more because of the ongoing investigation.

No one has been arrested. Anyone with information that could help investigators can call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
