Search for men who robbed Truist Bank in Newport News

Police said the suspects threatened the teller with a gun and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Police in Newport News are investigating an armed bank robbery on Denbigh Boulevard and asking the public for help identifying the suspects.

Investigators say two masked men walked into the Truist Bank just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. They threatened the teller with a gun and took an undisclosed amount of cash. 

Police say the men left in a gold-colored, four-door Hyundai sedan traveling south on Warwick Boulevard. That vehicle has since been recovered by police.

One suspect was wearing a pink face mask with grey hooded jacket, slim tan pants and white tennis shoes. The other was wearing a black face mask with black clothing, including an inside-out hoodie.

Both suspects are estimated to be in their 30s and about 6-feet-tall.
