PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A man was shot near the Olde Towne area of Portsmouth late Wednesday morning, the Portsmouth Police Department said.
The shooting happened in the 400 block of Effingham Street, which is near the intersection with London Street. Police said officers responded shortly after 11:40 a.m. after dispatchers were notified of a gunshot.
Medics took the victim to a hospital to be treated for his injuries. Police didn't say what the man's condition was.
The Portsmouth Police Department didn't share any further information about the shooting.
