PORTSMOUTH, Va. — An overnight shooting in Portsmouth has left a man dead, authorities said.
The Portsmouth Police Department (PPD) learned of a shooting in the vicinity of the 2400 block of Chesnut Street.
At the scene, officers found 29-year-old Damarcus Dildy shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene, PPD said.
There's also no word on any arrests or what led up to the shooting. Portsmouth police say the investigation is underway.
