NORFOLK, Va. — A 25-year-old man was sentenced to jail after pointing a firearm at a sanitation worker for TFC Recycling in 2022, the Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney's Office announced Tuesday.

On Friday, Louis Lemon was sentenced to 10 months in the Norfolk City Jail on a misdemeanor brandishing a weapon charge.

The charge stems from a Dec. 21, 2022 incident where Lemon used his vehicle to block a sanitation worker's truck in on Sturgis Street, then proceeded to yell at her. When the worker tried to explain why she couldn't service Lemon's cans, officials say he got a gun out of his vehicle and pointed it at the worker.

He returned to his vehicle and drove off, prompting the worker to report the incident to 911.

“Brandishing a gun is a misdemeanor in Virginia, but it is an incredibly serious crime,” said Commonwealth’s Attorney Ramin Fatehi. “Mr. Lemon threatened to shoot the victim for doing her job after she tried to help him. He has earned his lengthy jail sentence. We will continue to hold accountable people who commit gun crimes in our City.”
