NORFOLK, Va. — A man was sentenced to two years on Friday for burglarizing a Norfolk warehouse, the city Commonwealth's Attorney's Office said.
The sentencing comes after Leroy David Rouse,51, pleaded guilty on October 18 to burglary and petit larceny.
On June 17, 2022, Rouse was found by police inside a fenced-in lot at the Hajoca warehouse on East Virginia Beach Boulevard in the process of stealing copper pipes.
Norfolk Police Officers said they were responding to an alarm call at the Hajoca warehouse when they caught Rouse in the act of stealing the copper pipes.
Rouse tried to run away but was detained by officers.
The key holder of the warehouse came to the scene and confirmed that the copper pipes stolen had come from the Hajoca warehouse. Video surveillance footage confirmed Rouse crawled under the bay door and stole the pipes.
