NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating a shooting in the Denbigh area that left one man dead Friday.
The victim, 21-year-old Jalin Marquise Deberry was found laying on the road at the intersection of Garrow Road and Shannon Drive with gun shot wounds around 5:30 a.m.
Residents reported hearing more than a dozen gunshots.
A couple reportedly rushed the victim who was lying on the ground and with a towel applied pressure to his wounds until paramedics arrived to take him to the hospital, where he died.
