Man hurt in shooting on Pretlow St. in Franklin

The man was treated by the city's fire and rescue department, then flown to Sentara Norfolk General hospital for treatment.

FRANKLIN, Va. — A man was hurt after he was shot in Franklin Wednesday morning, police said. 

According to the Franklin Police Department, officers found the 35-year-old on the 400 block of Pretlow Street. That's just off of South Street. They said the call came in around 11:40 this morning. 

The man was treated by the city's fire and rescue department, then flown to Sentara Norfolk General hospital for treatment.

The suspect stayed on the scene, was questioned and released pending a case review by the Southampton County Commonwealth Attorney, police said. 

Police have not released any information about the suspect yet but said the investigation is ongoing.
