PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A man was wounded in a broad daylight shooting in Portsmouth late Wednesday morning, authorities said.
In a news release, the Portsmouth Police Department (PPD) said the man was shot near Williamsburg Avenue just off County Street at around 10:45 a.m. A 13News Now crew saw police had taped off and were investigating a wooded area near Williamsburg Avenue, near some train tracks.
The victim, who has not been publicly identified at this time, was taken to a hospital for treatment. There's no word on his condition.
Police have not announced any arrests or released any details about a possible suspect.
