CHESAPEAKE, Va. — An investigation is underway after an early morning shooting in Chesapeake claimed a teenage boy's life, authorities said.
In a release on Saturday, the Chesapeake Police Department (CPD) said officers responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Parkside Drive and Stalham shortly before 3:30 a.m. After searching the area, officers found a boy suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to a hospital where he ultimately died. Police updated on Monday that the victim was a 17-year-old.
